When I began my Photography adventure 5 years ago.....I had no plan.
I had the camera, and I knew I loved taking photos..but that was it!
I've always loved photography. My dad was a keen photographer, and very good he was too...well still is, but more of a casual snapster these days.
When I began my photography journey (sorry terrible word...ha!) on my 30th Birthday, I didn't know where it would take me.
I photographed anything and everything and had no style.
Over the last 5 years I have Grown, Progressed and Developed.
I followed loads of photographers via social media. I studied their work, tried their techniques and copied their ideas, but I feel now I am beginning to fall into my own style.
I certainly can't put a label on it, but if I had to choose one word to describe it, then it would be Documentary.
I love capturing all the moments and details.
Especially with my Wedding Photography. Yes I will of course get all those group shots you require, and the classic not to be missed moments....but what I really love is capturing the candid moments, the details, the love and passion that has gone into your special day.
My other passion is the outdoors and location shoots.
People know me now for my location portrait work, and hire me knowing they will not get those staged, studio style photos ( I have nothing against them, just not my thing), but Relaxed, Playful, Fun, Natural photos.
Within my work, If I can go someway to combining the 2 styles, then that makes me very happy, and I feel I have accomplished what I set out to do.
I'm a true believer that if you like it, then try it....in a world of digital, experimental is the key.
Find your own feet, find your own style.
Customers will find you, for being you.
Stick to what you believe in.
If your ideas or style changes down the line, then so what...go with it!
I will never stop learning, and still have a great deal to learn. In an ever changing world, things don't stay the same for long. Go with it, embrace it, and don't be scared to ask questions along the way.
