When your best friends ask you to be a Bridesmaid at their wedding, it is the best feeling, and in my case super emotional, coz I literally cry at everything these days! But when you take it upon yourself to not only be their bridesmaid, but to plan the entire wedding reception for them, and also be the photographer as well, it becomes a whole new ball game!!
But me being the crazy lady I am, took on this challenge, and bloody loved it!!
Helen & Martin decided upon Hollycombe Steam Museum in Liphook, Hampshire for the destination of their Wedding Party. The guys had already tied the knot, a few weeks before in gorgeous Cyprus (of which I was extremely lucky to be part of as bridesmaid)
So they always knew they wanted something a little different for their reception back here in England.
But having spent a lot of time planning the Cyprus leg, I thought it was the least I could do, to take the stress away from them, and to plan the english party for them.
The ethos of the day was to be fun, fun, fun, with a huge helping of Music! Oh and not to mention a star appearance from their Black Labrador Charlie!
And that's what we gave them!
From Steam powered Fairground rides, Train journeys into the Hampshire hills, Live Music on a station, and then a rocking live band in the evening...It was everything they had dreamt of.
Being part of the whole process was so much fun. Mr C was close by at all times, as he was lucky enough to be Best Man, so we both did have a very special reason for making this the best party ever!
All the suppliers we used were super helpful and kind, and made the day even better. We only used suppliers from the home counties, so it really was a local affair.
Being able to photograph is was magical, the whole day was right up my street, and gave me chance to embrace my love of the alternative.
H&M had said they were keen to have documentary style photography as much as possible. So I was able to capture all the details. They wanted their photos to be relaxed, and fancy free. No frills, as they wanted them to just tell the story, and I love that!
So on that note, I'll let the photos do the talking...
At this point I would like to point out a couple of things.....
Firstly..Yes that is me and Mr C in a few of the images...ha! Being Bridesmaid and Best Man we couldn't get away from it. I passed the camera over to the very talented Alice Armstrong, who did an amazing job at capturing us.
Secondly.... From this point onwards the day gets a little 'hazy' Ha Ha!!!
We had speeches, and dinner, and then the dancing started. This was the point, I got changed, put my camera down, and just enjoyed what was left of an epic day....I hope you can understand? ;)
So I will leave you with the groom doing his thing..
With help from the incredible Billy 2 Mates, the evening went off with a bang!
Thank You to all the amazing suppliers that made the day so amazing!
