The Mill Elstead

March 17, 2017

Thursday 16th March 2017 saw the first Networking event for Wedding Professionals at The Mill in Elstead, Surrey.

What a beautiful venue.

Traditionally a country pub, but with a true hidden gem!

Sian and her staff took the The Mill on 2 years ago, and have transformed it to a wonderful venue to have a quiet drink or a rural country wedding.

The site is large, rustic and extremely pretty.

On your approach you enter over a lovely bridge that guides you over the River Wey, which runs right under the pub.

Large car park means there is plenty of space for locals and party guests.

Through the main door you are first met with the giant water mill that is working and housed behind a large glass wall. It's a fantastic feature and instantly makes you feel at home.

On the ground floor you find a large bar and dining area to enjoy.

Upstairs were I was heading, was the star of the show, you enter yet another large bar, dining and seating area.....Just perfect for events.

The Mill has a Wedding licence, so you are able to hold your whole event in one place.  The area is split into 3 sections.  A good size bar area, a dining area which is transformed into your ceremony space, and then a dining area with a stunning mezzanine level to hold your wedding breakfast.  Despite the layout being in 3 clear sections, they all flow nicely into each other, so you do not feel cut off from anyone else.

It is well thought out, and truly beautiful.

The Mill has a 3rd floor which hosts a conference room for around 30 people.

Sian and the staff at The Mill are very keen to build relationships with local suppliers, and have themselves already attended Wedding Fairs and have hosted Wedding Showcases at the pub.

So this particular evening was all about networking. A whole bunch of Wedding related companies having a relaxed chat, swapping stories, advice and getting to know each other.

It was a really lovely relaxed and friendly evening.

A variety of industries were present, from photographers, florists, wedding planners to beauty therapists, favour suppliers, cake makers and so on.

A mix of around 30 people were all there.

It was lovely to finally have the opportunity to connect with other people from the local area and hopefully build professional relationships.

The Mill supplied us with Tea, Coffee, nibbles, and a warm welcome.

Thank You to the staff at The Mill for making us all feel so welcome.  And I look forward to working with you in the feature.
